Terms of Use

Welcome to ClassicNotes. By visiting and using this website you agree to the terms set out below. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

Use of the site

ClassicNotes is a free, browseable reference library of public-domain piano sheet music. You are welcome to browse, read, and use the catalogue for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the site — for example by attempting to disrupt it, scraping it in a way that degrades service for others, or using it for any unlawful purpose.

Content and accuracy

We compile catalogue information from public sources and present it in good faith, but we make no warranty that every detail is complete, current, or free of error. The information here is provided "as is" for general reference and study. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on, particularly the public-domain status of a work in your own country before performing, copying, or distributing it.

Downloads and third-party links

The PDF score downloads and "View on IMSLP" links point to third-party archives — primarily IMSLP / the Petrucci Music Library — which we do not control. When you follow such a link your browser communicates directly with that archive, and its own terms and policies apply. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any external site.

Intellectual property

The musical scores referenced here are in the public domain. The original editorial text, layout, and design of ClassicNotes are our own work; please do not republish them wholesale as your own.

Disclaimer of warranties and liability

The site is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClassicNotes and its editors shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or any material linked from it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. The date below indicates when this page was last updated.
